SUMMARY:2026 Melbourne Autumn Drive Day
DESCRIPTION:REGISTRATION NOW OPEN\n \nWith the Melbourne Summer Drive Day filling in record time\, we’ve opened registration early for our Melbourne Autumn event and would love to see you there.  \n  \n  \nWhy We Drive \nDAD drive days are always about connection and community. They hold the intention to normalise mental health challenges and mental illness\, promote conversations around these and offer pathways for seeking further support. \nWe use driving and the shared enthusiasm for cars and great roads as our way of connecting and escaping downward emotional spirals. We know that connection is vital for mental wellbeing\, and DAD events deliver this in spades.  \nDAD isn’t a club\, it’s a community. Please don’t feel you need to have a particular model or age of car to attend – if you love it\, bring it.  \nOur drive days are strictly social and non-competitive. We use open roads and carefully plan our drive routes to make them as safe and logical as possible\, while using engaging roads with interesting scenery for a great day out. Safe driving behaviour is a non-negotiable part of our event. Keeping everyone safe on the road is of utmost importance.  \nWe advocate for using DAD drive days as an inclusive environment to start your mental health conversation where you feel comfortable to do so\, however\, DAD drive days are not a crisis service.  \n  \nWhat’s Happening for the 2026 Melbourne Autumn Drive Day?  \nThe date is set\, the drive route is being planned\, so pop the date in your diary\, gather your mates\, and don’t forget to register below.  \nIn true Melbourne Autumn fashion\, we’ll be taking in the colour-changing scenery and some of Victoria’s best driving roads as we enjoy a community day centred around connection\, conversation and the shared love of motoring.  \nWhile the details are still being finalised\, we invite you to register early for this event and lock in the date. Our Melbourne Summer Drive Day was filled in record time\, and we’re looking forward to another memorable event in Autumn.  \nCheck out some of our previous Autumn events here\, and drop us a line if there’s somewhere you’d like to see us drive for this event!  \nWe’ll share additional event information via our website\, newsletter and socials shortly. The full participant pack\, drive route\, and individual Tourboss link will be emailed to registered participants in advance of the event.  \n  \nDriving Mental Wellness Together \nEnsuring unique experiences for participants and creating memorable occasions that support mental wellness is what DAD events are all about. This is achievable through the involvement and generosity of event partners and supporters. From locations to drive routes\, raffle prizes to experiences\, catering and special inclusions\, there’s something different at each DAD event that sets it apart. If you or your business would like to view our current Supporter’s Pack and explore collaboration opportunities\, please send us an email via connect@driveagainstdepression.com.au or submit an enquiry\, and we’ll forward the details.  \n  \nHear DAD’s News and Event Announcements First \nTo keep up to date with news on our upcoming drives and mental wellness supports\, please subscribe to our newsletter. The form is at the bottom of our homepage at www.driveagainstdepression.com.au \n  \n\nWe look forward to driving with you soon!  \n*Event Terms & Conditions

They hold the intention to normalise mental health problems and mental illness\, promote conversations around these and offer pathways for seeking further support. We use open roads and carefully plan our drive routes to make them as safe and logical as possible\, while using engaging roads with new scenery for a great day out.  \nWe advocate for using DAD drive days as an inclusive environment to start your mental health conversation where you feel comfortable to do so\, however DAD drive days are not a crisis service and keeping everyone safe on the road is of utmost importance.  \n  \nWhat’s Happening for the Brisbane Summer Drive Day in December 2025?  \nFor our final event for 2025\, we’re collaborating with our friends at Ford Australia to bring you a relaxed cruise featuring beautiful roads and scenery\, and a relaxed setting with a welcoming community.  \n\nThis time of year brings a mix of feelings and experiences – from excitement and anticipation to worry and sadness\, and plenty more in between. Whatever the end-of-year season means for you\, we encourage you to take the time you need to look after your mental wellness.\n\n\nIf that means getting together with a welcoming community for a day of great roads and a fun drive\, we’d love to see you in Brisbane.\n \n\n\nDate:Sunday 7th December\nArrival time: From 8:00am\nBriefing and event start: Participant briefing at 9:00am\, heading off at 9:30am\nStarting at: Sunshine Ford. 292 Southport Nerang Road\, Southport QLD 4215\nEnding at: Wynnum Ambulance Museum. 33 – 35 Tingal Rd\, Wynnum QLD 4178\n\n \n \nRegister below to book your attendance – we’re excited to share this event with you! \nThe full event details and drive route pack will be emailed to registered participants in advance of the event.  \n\nEvent Supporters \nDrive Route and Vehicle Support\nOur friends at Ford Australia have worked through the planning\, mapped the drive route\, and provided vehicle and logistics support for the DAD team to travel to Brisbane to deliver this event.  \nStart Location\nWe’re sincerely grateful to the team at Sunshine Ford for hosting the start of our event and putting on another barbecue breakfast.  \nEnd Location\nThe volunteers at Wynnum Ambulance Service are opening their venue exclusively for our group to view the automotive collection\, gather for lunch and hear from a member of Queensland Ambulance Service to learn about how mental health calls are handled when a 000 call is made. While DAD isn’t a crisis service\, these services are sometimes needed\, and we’re looking forward to the opportunity to demystify and destigmatise the need to call for crisis intervention.  \nRaffle Prize\nUniden is back on board to support DAD for a third event\, with the donation of a dashcam as our raffle prize.  \nEvent Mapping and Documentation Management\nOur days wouldn’t be the same without the inclusion of Tourboss\, and we’re so grateful to have their game-changing app for participant and team use.  \nTherapy Partner\nA key part of DAD’s service offering is the ability to connect our community with a range of therapists and clinicians\, and remove barriers to the continuation of important mental health conversations. We’re delighted to welcome Talked to this event and hear from one of their experts.  \n  \nHow to Participate \nPop the date in your diary and gather your mates! \nThere are no minimum car requirements to join this cruise – if it’s registered and you love it\, bring it along.  \nRegistrations are now open\, please complete the details below. \nThe donation and registration fields are below for your use\, and event terms and conditions are at the bottom of this page. \nAs a registered charity we are proud to offer tax deductibility for your donations\, and thank you for your generosity which allows us to provide these important events. \n*If you’re interested in supporting as a DAD Local Legend or sponsor\,  please let us know in the “Additional Comments” section on the below form.  \n  \nWe look forward to seeing you at our next event!  \n\n*Event Terms & Conditions

Those who joined our Autumn Drive Day last year will remember the stunning location\, made even more beautiful with the Autumn colours and friendly welcome from the team at The Toolshed. We invite participants to join us for a meal and a chat at the conclusion of the drive.  \nFor those who would like to extend the day with an additional drive after lunch\, we’ve suggested an optional drive route from The Toolshed to Blue Rock Dam. For this event\, we’re grateful to have StandBy Support After Suicide with us.  \nDAD and StandBy were both created based on the lived experience of their Founders and both share similarities of purpose – to provide a meaningful means of connection and support and reduce the risk factors associated with death by suicide.  \nStandBy Support After Suicide is a national service known as Australia’s leading postvention program dedicated to supporting people impacted or bereaved by suicide. \nIn Melbourne\, StandBy is delivered by Jesuit Social Services. As a national services we were proud to introduce our Adelaide community to StandBy in 2024\, and look forward to introducing our Melbourne community to Shaun Walsh. Shaun will introduce what StandBy does and how it can be accessed by anyone bereaved or impacted by suicide. \nThere’s no time limit on when the service can be accessed\, and Shaun will provide a brief introduction to how StandBy can support those experiencing grief.  \n \n  \nThe Melbourne Autumn Drive Day is now fully booked and closed for registration. \nIf you missed joining us this time we’d love to see you at our Winter Drive Day on 27th July! SUMMARY:2024 Adelaide Spring Drive Day
DESCRIPTION:REGISTRATIONS NOW OPEN!\nRegistration Closes Saturday 16th November\, 4:00pm \n  \nWhy We Drive \nDAD drive days are always about connection and community. They hold the intention to normalise mental health problems and mental illness\, promote conversations around these and offer pathways for seeking further support. \nWe use driving and the shared enthusiasm for cars and great roads as our way of connecting and escaping downward emotional spirals. We know that connection is vital for mental wellbeing\, and DAD events deliver this in spades.  \nDAD isn’t a club\, it’s a community. Please don’t feel you need to have a particular model or age of car to attend – if it’s registered and you love it\, bring it.  \nOur drive days are strictly social and non-competitive. \n  \nWhat’s Happening for the Adelaide Spring Drive Day in November 2024?  \nThis drive day will be a laid-back\, social event. It will follow the format of our traditional events – starting with morning briefing\, driving to morning tea for a break and chat\, then cruising a bit further along our drive route to end at The National Motor Museum in Birdwood.  \nWe’re selecting some sensational driving roads that will lead us to Birdwood\, and we know that coupled with some great company and conversations\, this will be a brilliant event for our second cruise in Adelaide.  \n  \nSpecial Guest \nOver the past few months we have been in discussions with the team at StandBy Support After Suicide. This is an incredible national service that supports anyone who has been bereaved or impacted by suicide.  \nLiked DAD\, StandBy is a service that was created based on lived experience. While StandBy is primarily a postvention service\, we know that those impacted by suicide are at significantly increased risk of mental health difficulties and suicide. As such\, the StandBy services and education also lead into prevention and encourage those experiencing grief or loss to reach out for help. \nWe are excited to welcome the Adelaide StandBy team to this event and learn about their services and how to refer or self refer. Additionally\, we’ll be sharing more news about our wider partnership with StandBy.  \n \n  \nEvent details are as follows: \nWhen: Sunday 17th November 2024\nStart location: Belair\nArrival from 8:30am\nBriefing at 9:30am \nHitting the road by 10:00am\nMorning tea: approximately 11:00am\nEnd location: National Motor Museum\, Birdwood \nThe full event details and drive route pack will be emailed to registered participants in advance of the event.  \n  \nEvent Partner \nFor each event\, we invite partnerships to create shared impact and help make sure our drives hit the road. As a volunteer-run registered charity\, we operate based on the commitment of our wonderful team\, and we are seeking financial resourcing to support that.  \nWe have witnessed the capacity of DAD events to change lives. We know what it means to our community to have these safe spaces and opportunities for connection in a way that isn’t offered elsewhere. We have big plans for supporting our community and creating lasting impact\, and partnerships help significantly with our capacity to achieve that vision.  \nIf you or your business are interested in discussing partnership opportunities or understanding more about the options (of which there are several)\, please contact Sarah via sarah@driveagainstdepression.com.au \n  \nHow to Participate \nPop the date in your diary and gather your mates! \n  \n\n*Event Terms & Conditions

SUMMARY:2024 Queensland Winter Drive Day
DESCRIPTION:** THIS EVENT IS NOW FULLY BOOKED **\nIf you would like to receive news regarding our upcoming events\, please subscribe to our newsletter (scroll to the bottom of our homepage) \nWhy We Drive \nDAD drive days are always about connection and community. Please don’t feel you need to have a particular model or age of car to attend – if you love it\, bring it.  \nOur drive days are strictly social and non-competitive. \n  \nWhat’s Happening for the Queensland Winter Drive Day in June 2024?  \n \nWinter is the perfect time for a Queensland drive. We’re thrilled to offer a unique Drive Day for our Sunshine State crew on 2nd June 2024\, where our drive will conclude at the Bowden Car Collection on the Sunshine Coast – a stunning collection of rare and unique cars owned by the crew at Bowden’s Own. \nWith the support of Bowden’s Own\, we’re cruising through the lesser-travelled roads of the Sunshine Coast to end with a charity tour of the Bowden’s private car collection. This is a spectacular opportunity that is no longer offered to the general public\, so we are incredibly grateful to the team at Bowden’s Own for inviting our DAD drive participants in for a look at their private collection. \nThe Bowden family shares our passion for driving mental wellness – they also understand how important it is to have something to look forward to and the positive impact that has on mental health. We extend our gratitude to the Bowden’s for offering this truly memorable experience.  \n> Places are fully subscribed for this event and registration is now closed.\n> The participant pack will be provided to all registered participants on Friday 31st May. \n  \n  \n  \n*Event Terms & Conditions

SUMMARY:2023 Brisbane Drive Day
DESCRIPTION:Registration closes Thursday 12th October\, 12:00pm \nDrive Day: Sunday 15th October\, 2023\nFerny Grove to Maleny \n  \nWhy We Drive \nThis event is a classic DAD drive day. It brings us back to our roots and delivers the simple pleasures of getting out for a drive in the car you love with a good bunch of people.  \nThere are no minimum car requirements to join – if it’s registered and you love it\, then bring it.  \nThis drive day keeps DAD’s intention at the core and offers the opportunity for connection and honest conversations. It holds the intention to normalise mental health problems and mental illness\, promote conversations around these and offer pathways for seeking further support. \nThere’s no judgment or expectation\, and you’re welcome to drive solo (perhaps with the company of DAD’s new driving playlist!) or bring a few mates and share the day. We will also have seats available in cars with the DAD Crew\, so if you’d like to catch the train to Ferny Grove and drive along with us you’re welcome to\, please just give us the heads up on your plans when you register.  \nWe use driving and the shared enthusiasm for cars and great roads as our way of connecting and escaping downward emotional spirals. We know that connection is vital for mental wellbeing\, and DAD events deliver this in spades.  \nOur drive days are strictly social and non-competitive. \n  \nWhat’s Happening for the Brisbane Drive Day?  \n     \n  \nWhen: Sunday 15th October\, 2023\nStart location: Ferny Grove\nArrival from: 9:30am\nImportant participant briefing: 10:00am\nSetting off by: 10:30am\nMorning tea: This is a relaxed cruise with plenty of time to stop for breaks.
